Congrats once again to all the filmmakers on a job well done!  Judges scored on a scale of 100 points and the winners were determined by the collective scores of the three judges. Please note that late films were not eligible. Without further adieu – the overall winners for the 29 Days Later Film Project 2012!

Third place:
Yellow Jacket by Star Wipe Films
Star Wipe Films, led by David Garner, will receive a free film score for a future short film (under 15 minutes) from film composer Craig Dayton.

Runner up:
A Fine Young Lad from Glasgow – Carl’s Basement
Carl’s Basement, led by Carl Stevens, will receive $200 worth of special effects services from Herron Designs.

And the winner of 29 Days Later:
Poetry Betwixt Friendship – Carpathian Punch Factory
Carpathian Punch Factory, led by Bob Rose, will receive a grand prize of a $500 gear rental credit from Absolute Independent Pictures and the prestigious Judith Rheiner Independent Spirit Award trophy.

Special shout outs to the other top five finalists Day Zero by Dropped Frames and Go DJ by B-side Media Arts. We will be screening the top five and presenting the awards at the Oct. 1 Cine Salon. Click here for more info!

  • Day at Work by The Orange Hornet
  • The Widow Bird: A Dream by Barkinglips Films

  • Topsy’s Revenge by Grand Theft Xylophone Films (tied 10th)
